Meet Our Team
Rob Cain
I was born and raised in Northern California. A small town called Corning. I lived in a couple places in Texas, New Mexico, Missouri, Kansas, and eventually ended up in Iowa my junior hear of high school. I graduated from Dallas Center-Grimes in 1982 which is where I met my wife Laura. We were married in May of 1984. We moved back to California for a year where Laura had a chance to meet and get to know my family. However she became homesick and we moved back to Iowa.
I worked for a short time for Prudential insurance, but then started my career in the hotel business. I worked at a few different hotels but ended my hotel career with the Marriott Corporation. I had transferred to the Quad Cities with Marriott as a Manager at the Courtyard in Bettendorf. When I decided to get out of the Hotel business our two daughters were in school and we loved the Quad Cities area so much, that we wanted to stay in the area. I got into the automotive industry, as a salesman, manager, software trainer, and eventually a partner in a dealership in Fort Dodge . I returned to the Quad Cities and started my career again in the insurance industry.
This is when I went to work at Cities Insurance Group. I liked the fact of helping seniors with their Medicare insurance. (I also liked the idea of so many baby boomers aging into Medicare would provide lots of future customers!)
The main thing I learned over the years in all of my ventures was that, if you have good products, and take good care of your customers, they will take care of you. That is the core of our company, as an Independent Insurance Agency, we can shop around for the best products for our customers. Whether it’s a Medicare related product, Property and Casualty, Group, Commercial, Life, Health, or investment, know that we are constantly looking out for our customers best interests. I was born in Silvis, IL and grew up in a very large family. I am the youngest of 6 girls and have 1 younger brother who didn’t stand a chance. I attended United Township high school until joining the military. I attended basic training until it was discovered that I had a rare medical disease WPW (you know that’s where the athletes suddenly have heart failure at or shortly after their game). After having heart surgery I was medically discharged and returned to Silvis to recover. I am a mother of 3 children, 2 daughters and 1 son. I came to work at Cities Insurance Group as an assistant to the Senior Property and Casualty consultant and fell in love with the insurance business. I really love helping customers to understand the specifics of their coverage’s and making sure they understand what they are getting. I know that what I do makes a difference in people lives. For example, early on I recommended adding an umbrella policy to one of our older couple, as I quoted and reduced their home and auto insurance. Recently this couple was in a bad automobile crash and one of them had to spend a lot of time at Iowa City. If we had not added the umbrella policy, the bills would have been devastating. I enjoy the opportunity to work with such a variety of people and products, and constantly being challenged. I have worked my way up to the Senior Property and Casualty consultant and really enjoy the low key family environment that my job provides. As someone that has always enjoyed athletics and all types of sports, it now takes up a lot of my time introducing these activities to my children. (even though it seems like it takes up all my free time!!) Contact Whitney wlane@citiesig.com.
Lindsay (Cain) Washington
I was born in Des Moines, Iowa and moved to the Quad City Area when I was four years old. I have been in the Quad Cities most of my life, other than when I met and married my husband Kenneth Washington in May of 2010 in Omaha, Nebraska at the Offutt Air Force Base. My husband and I relocated back to the Quad Cities when he returned from his deployment overseas at Diego Garcia.
I have worked in the Customer Service Industry since I was 16 working various part time jobs. My most recent experience in sales and customer service comes from working at APAC Customer Service for 3 years working my way up from an entry level position to Operations Manager. Since then I have studied and completed my Property and Casualty Licensing and joined the team at Cities Insurance Group. I look forward to continuing to grow and develop as an individual while also contributing to the continued growth and success of Cities Insurance Group. Contact Lindsay lwashington@citiesig.com.
